Description:

The Development Director for St Theresa Parish and School establishes, maintains, and nurtures positive relationships and lines of communication with parish and school families as well as local community groups. These relationships will provide the basis and continuity for initiatives, fundraising activities, effective partnering with key constituents and ties with the Catholic faith. As a key collaborator, the Development Director knows how to lead, motivate and unite various groups toward a common goal while thinking strategically and practically to implement a comprehensive and results orientated development plan. Duties and responsibilities of the Parish Development Director include: ? In collaboration with Pastor and School Principal, write a short term and long term Development Plan. Create project timelines, budgets, marketing collateral and calendar Parish solicitations. Create budget for each event and manage expenses to remain within said budget. Recruit, train and direct leadership and volunteers for annual giving activities, special events and alumni relations. Implement and oversee all aspects of the Parish Green and Gold Fundraiser. Coordinate with committee co-chairs in assigning and monitoring tasks. Lead major gift solicitation efforts as part of the parish and school’s comprehensive development program. Specific responsibilities include: Prospect identification, cultivation and solicitation. Develop, enhance and evaluate giving for Endowment Fund Identify new prospective donors and areas of potential gift growth for current donors. Prepare and oversee all grant applications. Update and maintain the donor database and all donor records in PDS and in paper files. Establish and maintain gift acceptance/acknowledgement process by entering and recording gifts and producing acknowledgement letters and pledge reminders in an accurate and timely manner. Coordinate the matching gift program Provide timely reports to the Pastor, Principal and Board of Specified Jurisdiction as to the progress toward goals and deadlines. Regularly update and monitor all website content which relates to Development office. Manage preparation, writing, design, printing and dissemination of Annual Development Report and other related printed materials in order to publicize all events Coordinate and participate in donor recognition activities. Manage and maintain events software as needed. Other duties as assigned by Pastor and School Principal.

Requirements:

● BA or BS degree in communications, fundraising and/or non profit management ● Prior experience in development and fundraising field with non profit organization preferred ● Strong fundraising skills with a record of achieving fundraising results through a variety of mediums ● Excellent organization and time management skills ● Enthusiasm and confidence to take on a task and ability to lead and make decisions ● Ability to be creative while working collaboratively with parish and school committees, parent organizations and appropriate staff ● Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as knowledge and skills in the social media outlets ● Ability to handle multiple priorities while being flexible with work transitions ● Exceptional computer skills and experience with development management software ● Demonstrate understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teachings and values ● Continuing education is required to maintain knowledge of best practices and laws which affect charitable giving
