Description:
Saints Peter and Paul and St. Raphael Catholic Churches in Naperville are looking to hire a Youth Minister. The central purpose of our youth ministries is to equip high school students with prayer, catechesis, and community within the Tradition and sacramental life of the Church, that they will live as committed Catholics devoted to the Lord Jesus in their daily lives, both now and on into adulthood. The youth minister’s role is to provide primary leadership in running and sustaining our two youth ministries by providing spiritual, social, and service opportunities, centered particularly on each youth group’s weekly gatherings at their respective parishes. This is a Full-Time, 40 hours per week, position with Benefits split between two parishes.
Requirements:
•Catholic in good standing who follows the precepts of the Church and understands and supports Her doctrines and moral teachings while also competent to cooperate with the mission and objectives of both parishes and their pastors
•Undergraduate degree in Theology, Catechetics, or Catholic Studies, or comparable formation.
•Skills in ministry program administration, organization, and teaching
•Experience in a church ministry with junior high and high school ages is preferred
•Comfortable communicating and working with parishioners and church personnel of all ages
•Seeks continual education and formation in the truths of the Catholic faith by personal study and prayer
Since this is a ministerial position, must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing, and must know, profess and act consistently in accordance with the doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church, and with the mission, philosophy, objectives and policies of the Diocese of Joliet.
