Description:

Christian Brothers of the Midwest seeks a Director of Development to further its mission by expanding the advancement effort to more fully engage with donors, alumni and friends and move the operation to the next level of excellence. The Director sets annual and long-term development goals and objectives to maximize opportunities and philanthropic sources of support. He/She oversees and enhances the current major gift, direct mail, planned giving, special events, communication and cultivation programs. The Director of Development provides leadership and supervision to a staff of four professionals, serves as a member of the District Office Leadership Team, and reports to the Brother Visitor (Provincial). This position is full-time, based in Burr Ridge, Illinois, and offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package. Requirements:

The successful candidate will have: •Significant development experience, a proven track record in identifying, qualifying, cultivating and soliciting major donors, and the ability to build lasting relationships with constituents, staff members, donors and Brothers. •Excellent organizational capacity and superb communication skills, both verbal and written. •Respect for and commitment to the Lasallian mission. •A strong personal spirituality, evidence of good judgement, a proactive, results-oriented personality, and the ability to lead and mentor staff. •A bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred.
