Description:
The Chapel Choir Director oversees the music aChapt the 9:30am Sunday Chapel Mass and the Chapel Choir. The Chapel Choir sings a diverse and more contemporary (piano-based) repertoire which fully embraces the spirit of Vatican II. The ideal candidate will be energetic and innovative while respecting the established style and aesthetic of the Chapel community. A complete archive of all past orders of service will be provided as a reference spanning the past 14+ years.
Responsibilities
• Plan music for 9:30am Sunday Chapel Mass.
• Play piano for 9:30am Sunday Chapel Mass.
• Create weekly printed order of service for Chapel Mass.
• Rehearse with Chapel Choir at least twice per month before or after Mass.
• Other playing opportunities available for additional stipends.
• All other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
• Excellent piano playing ability in multiple styles.
• Experience leading a choir from the piano.
• Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and music.
• Comfort working with volunteer musicians of varied level and backgrounds.
• Demonstrates understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission and values.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience in Music, Liturgy, or related field.
• Brings 3+ years of experience in Music Ministry at the parish level.
• Demonstrates exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at managing multiple projects.
• Commitment to radical hospitality and empathy.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign or similar software for creating printed materials.
