Description:
PARISH RECEPTIONIST:
- The position is a full time, medium term (three months, approx Oct to Dec) to cover the front office M-F daytimes while the Secretary is on maternity leave, afterwards transitioning to a permanent part-time position with evening or weekend hours to be negotiated.
- The Receptionist is the point of first contact for people calling or coming to the parish office. This person will either assist visitors or callers with their requests or common parish office needs, or direct them to the pastoral staff member who can best assist them.
- Other duties may include basic clerical work, data entry, email correspondence, intake of wedding and baptism requests, managing inventory of office supplies, some marketing, and assisting the priests and pastoral staff on projects.
- Other opportunities exist for involvement in other office functions and parish activities, depending on the candidate's skill set and areas of interest.
Requirements:
- Candidates should have a basic understanding of the Catholic faith and parish life, a familiarity with front office culture, a cheerful disposition, and some degree of computer proficiency.
- An ability to collaborate with office personnel, pastoral staff, and parishioners is also required.
- Willingness to learn and grow is key.
- Any degree of Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
