Description:

The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of communications for the parish providing support in areas such as marketing, advertising, social media and reporting of upcoming events. The person will have to stay up to date with the latest happenings of the parish and suggest strategies to increase parishioner awareness and participation. He or she will serve as a point of contact, communicating activities throughout the parish with parishioners.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Process weekly bulletins.

• Assist staff and parishioners in creating flyers and articles.

• Manage social media, the parish website, Flocknote and other forms of communication from the parish to parishioners.

• Provide parish announcements, and writes/edits intercessions to be read at weekend Masses.

• Arrange to have photos and information from special church events communicated to the parish.

• Manage parish calendar.

• Assist staff and volunteers with creating bulletin articles and graphics for print.

Requirements:

  • Experience in marketing, communications, advertising or related role strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding written, verbal and editing skills.
  • Time-management and organizational skills a must.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze data.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker with an eye for detail and design.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Self-starter with strong decision-making skills and the ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Publisher preferred.
  • Outgoing, people-oriented individual.
  • Polish as a second language a plus but not required.
  • Must be flexible in work schedule to stay abreast with parish activities.
  • Practicing Catholic is strongly preferred.
