Description:
- Plan music for weekend liturgies, special liturgies, and liturgical seasons.
- Encourage congregational singing.
- Wide range of liturgical music-traditional hymns and contemporary music.
- Play piano/organ for 4 weekend masses.
- Plan and direct choir-SATB.
- Weekly choir rehearsals.
- Provide growth opportunities for choir/cantors by participating in diocesan or npmchicago workshops or events.
- Recruitment of musicians-choir, cantors, instrumentalists.
- Maintain license for copyright and reporting usage.
- Handbell Choir.
- Funerals-Resurrection choir and cantors.
- Weddings.
- Youth Choir for Christmas/Easter(grades3-8).
- Update Website for music.
- Create worship aid for weekend liturgies including Advent and Lenten seasons.
- Member of the Liturgy Committee.
Requirements:
- Knowledge, familiarity, and experience in Roman Catholic spiritual and liturgical life.
- Proficiency in piano and organ; guitar skills.
- Good accompanist skills.
- Vocal and directing skills.
- Bachelor's degree or better in performance on piano/organ or voice, music education, liturgical music, or related field is ideal.
- Good communication skills.
- Computer skills *3-5 years experience.
- Background check and virtus training.
