Job Title:

Liturgy Coordinator/Director of Adult Faith Formation

Description:

• Coordinates new and ongoing formation of liturgical ministers: Greeters, Altar Servers, Ushers, Sacristans, and Children’s Liturgy of the Word.

• Organizes scheduling of Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Altar Servers, Sacristans, Ushers, Greeters, Cantors, and Children’s Liturgy of the Word.

• Prepares liturgies for special liturgical seasons and events.

• Weddings: Assists the Parish Wedding Coordinator in planning the liturgy and choosing readings.

• Funerals: Assists in planning the liturgy, executes scripts and worship aids, and provides ministers.

• Works with the Business Office in ensuring all volunteers have a current Safe Environment status.

• Attends staff meetings.

• Dedicated family masses.

• Neighborhood masses.

• Family Catechesis.

• Bereavement ministry.

• Ministry of Care.

• Baptismal Prep.

• Shares the responsibility for the development of catechetical programs and curriculum for all age levels throughout the Parish with the Formation team.

• Evaluates and plans vision and strategies with other leadership groups. Work with the parish staff in all areas developing themes of peace and justice in their respective programs and into liturgical celebrations and other times of community prayer.

• Outreach to wider community including new parishioner welcoming. Actively inviting adults and preparing them to be received in the Church (RCIA).

• Plan formation programs such as scripture study, speakers, and online learning. With other formation staff, organize spiritual events and weekend retreats.

• Collaboration with deanery and diocese to promote events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Catholic in good standing.

• Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.

• Ability to work well with people and collaborate.

• Ability to lead and train liturgical ministers.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Liturgy or Theology, preferred.

• Previous parish experience in liturgy and experience with liturgical ministry formation desired.

• Possesses extensive knowledge of Church documents with regard to the liturgy.

• Intermediate computer knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook).

• Music background is a plus.

Requirements:

Responsible for facilitating the worship life of the Parish community by coordinating and providing a quality liturgical experience which celebrates and strengthens the membership's journey of Faith.
