The Director is responsible for assuring that the Eucharistic liturgy and other liturgical celebrations in St. Paul VI parish remain the “source and summit” of our life together, and our mission to evangelize.

Will provide for a welcoming environment, effective proclamation of the Word, liturgical music, and prayerful engagement for the assembly.  Will also provide regular accompaniment at weekend liturgies and monthly at all school masses.

There are two worship sites and multiple musicians to schedule for accompanying on Sunday. The Director is part of the pastoral staff and reports to the Pastor.


• Collaborates with the Pastor and pastoral team to identify needs and to implement the liturgical music direction and develop new initiatives.

• Responsible for music selection, preparation and assembly preparation and copyright reporting for all Masses, Holy Days, sacramental liturgies, special liturgies and funerals and weddings.

• Recruits, forms, schedules, and directs parish choir.

• Recruits, forms, schedules, and directs cantors, accompanists and other instrumentalists as needed.

• Prepares all liturgies, including weekend and sacramental liturgies.

• Coordinates the maintenance and tuning of church instruments, a 2 manual Schlicker Pipe Organ and a 6 ft grand piano.

• Participates in team and staff meetings.

• Works in partnership with the Youth Music Ministry program to foster and to develop opportunities in the Parish Music Ministry.


  • 3 - 5 years experience in a Parish Music Ministry program.
  • Proficiency in keyboard, choral conducting, and organ.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, building and maintaining cantor/musician schedules and rosters.
  • Bachelor’s degree or better in Music or related field (Liturgy) or equivalent and demonstrated experience is required.
  • Competent to minister to a bilingual parish of English and Spanish. speakers.
