Position Summary
The Director Enrollment supports NCA’s mission by implementing and overseeing a comprehensive recruitment and marketing plan that will identify and recruit prospective students and families, as well as support student retention at NCA. This position reports to the principal and will work collaboratively with school leadership to promote Catholic education on the north side of Chicago.
The successful candidate will be personable, energetic, and welcoming and will be proactive and creative in the development and pursuit of both immediate and long-term goals consistent with NCA’s Strategic Plan.
Responsibilities
Recruitment and Enrollment
● Develop and direct a five-year enrollment management plan that addresses prospective parents (inquiry, materials, follow-up); current families (surveys, re-enrollment incentive programs, exit surveys); local community (parish programs, community outreach, baptismal records); organizing events during Catholic Schools Week.
● Visit and establish relationships with local daycares, preschools, and other early learning programs to speak with site directors about NCA’s Kindergarten program.
● Work collaboratively with our NCA parish communities to increase awareness and engagement, including attending events after liturgy.
● Work collaboratively with the School Board Marketing and Development Committee.
● Arrange and provide tours of the school for prospective families.
● Maintain an accurate database of prospective families and students for continued outreach until enrollment.
● Design and organize all admission events such as Open House, Welcome Meetings, school fairs, etc.
● Manage volunteers such as parent ambassadors to ensure participation in various enrollment marketing events.
● Strengthen and maintain relationships and communication with local community (local businesses, parishes, alderman’s offices, etc.) to foster commitment and investment in NCA.
● Increase visibility of NCA through presence at neighborhood events, festivals, and art fairs.
● Provide exit surveys to families leaving NCA and use data to assist with strategic planning for retention.
● Develop retention events for current school families.
● In conjunction Principal and Executive Director set and meet yearly enrollment goals related to enrollment and retention.
Marketing
● Develop a marketing plan that creates a cohesive vision to increase awareness about NCA and its multifaceted programs.
● In collaboration Principal and Executive Director, write and submit press releases to regularly keep NCA in front of the news.
● Create and maintain development of a media relations program that includes relationship building with online and traditional news sources.
● Oversee website administration and ensures the website is a current and proactive means of communication.
● Identify and develop media materials needed to support targeted recruitment efforts.
● Attend meetings, both at the Archdiocese and other places to network and gain professional knowledge. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in related field of study such as Marketing or Communications, or the equivalent work-related experience.
● Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (bi-lingual Spanish preferred).
● Ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
● Ability to gather data and compile information to share with stakeholders.
● Knowledge of recruitment and retention issues.
● Experience in planning, assessment, and evaluation of programs.
● Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
● Is self-confident in oral, written, strategic and analytical abilities.
● Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, database management, on on-line marketing modalities (Search engine optimization, social media marketing via Facebook, Twitter, etc., other mobile applications).
● Ability to work independently.
● Ability to work non-traditional hours with possible evening and weekend meetings/activities.
● Compliance with the Safe Environment Requirements of the Office for the Protection of Children and Youth.
● Demonstrate understanding, respect and support of the Catholic Church teaching, mission and values.
