Description:

This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the mission of Old St. Patrick’s Church and who has proven Development experience. This individual will serve as a member of the Pastor’s Leadership Team and will be responsible for the design and successful execution of the overall Development strategy.

The Chief Development Officer leads the Development department and assists the Pastor with special projects. The ideal candidate is a person of faith committed to living Gospel values.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sets overall vision and strategy for Development and leads team members to fulfill it.
  • Develops metrics to measure effectiveness for all aspects of development including annual fund (Sunday Giving), major gifts, planned gifts, special events, and database and donor management.
  • Develops infrastructure to support and report on Development activities.
  • Supervises Director of Special Events, Director of Communications and Development coordinator and ensures team members are meeting their targets.
  • Develops and executes major giving and planned giving programs.
  • Serves as primary relationship manager with major gifts and planned giving donors and prospects.
  • Serves as a member of the Pastor’s Leadership Team and Parish Advisory Board.
  • Works closely with the Pastor to promote the mission of Old St. Pat’s.
  • Leads special projects as assigned by the Pastor.
  • Serves as staff liaison to the Mission Advancement Council.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of development experience including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and special events.
  • Proven skills as a leader, manager and mentor for a team.
  • A history of creating and communicating strategic vision for a development team.
  • Proven strategic and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills with high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with databases and donor management software.
  • Marketing experience desired.
  • Person of faith, committed to living Gospel values.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires physical presence in the offices of Old St. Pat’s during regular business hours, Monday - Friday, and in church on Sundays when required
