Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Pastoral

  • Coordinate non-liturgical ministries of the parish including but not limited to: Human Concerns, Social groups (e.g.—Men’s Group; Young At Heart)
  • Encourage, support, and guide new ministries/events.
  • Collaborate with appropriate staff members to provide for ongoing formation in the faith.
  • Staff liaison to area-wide Young Adult ministry.
  • Assist in funeral and wedding intake as needed.
  • Make oneself available whenever pastoral counseling (or spiritual direction) might be requested.
  • Collaborate with other local parishes as needed.
  • Work with pastor and/or associate pastor, to address any other pastoral need of the parish Administrative.
  • Manage the parish calendar of events: Receive and schedule requests for use of space by parish ministries/organizations, handle any conflicts in scheduling, assist ministries/organizations in preparing for events, set up requests, ordering of supplies, signing out key, permits whenever required, outside speakers or guest presenters.
  • Site Administrator for Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults: Convey information to heads of ministries, gather and collect information from heads of ministries, submit pertinent information to the Archdiocese.
  • Create and manage a budget in collaboration with the parish’s Business Manager.
  • Assist in any way possible with fundraising efforts both on the ministry/organization level as well as the parish level.

Evangelization

  • Oversee and guide parish’s evangelization efforts: Plan and implement efforts to reach out to and maintain contact with: registered and active parishioners, registered non-active parishioners, non-registered parishioners, all other families. Coordinate/implement Alpha or similar program. Collaborate with other staff members in other efforts at evangelization.
  • Assist with ecumenical and interfaith dialogue ministries.
  • Help to create and manage online merchandise store .
  • Guide and direct Parish Media: Oversee the parish’s Livestreaming and Photography Ministry, oversee and direct the preparation and submission of the weekly parish bulletin, manage parish social media, website, Facebook and other social media, monitor the parish YouTube account, help develop and maintain a parish app, prepare information for narthex screens and outdoor sign, manage parish media on Google Drive.
  • Prepare/coordinate speakers for various parish events such as, but not exclusive to: Speakers for Lent/Advent o Parish Mission, any other event agreed upon with pastor and pastoral team.

Manage Constant Contact

  • Prepare blast e-mails and assist in posting of Midweek Moment Videos.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Practicing and active Catholic.
  • Passion and energy for evangelization.
  • Degree in pastoral studies, theology, faith formation or equivalent.
  • Pastoral counseling degree or equivalent would be highly preferred.
  • A commitment to Catholic teaching and practice.
  • Familiarity with parish life and movement or ability to become familiar with this aspect.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to use and adapt to modern technology and social media.
  • An ability to collaborate with all sorts of parishioners.

INTRODUCTION TO THE PARISH

St. Julie Billiart Parish is a vibrant faith community of close to 2000 households. The community is made up of people from all walks of life and backgrounds. Families here are committed to the two-fold responsibility of every Catholic parish which is to pray well and teach the faith. The first is seen through the liturgical celebrations and the second is seen from the spirit of hospitality and welcome for which the parish is well known. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Evangelization and Ministry Director will assist the Pastor and Associate Pastor with the overall pastoral needs and evangelization efforts in the parish to ensure that everyone encounters Jesus Christ and deepens their commitment to Him and His Church. This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing improvement of the evangelization initiatives and building community. This person will also be responsible for helping other ministries of the parish.

Being a large sized parish, there is already a long list of ministries and organizations that are active with room for growth. Management of those ministries and organizations will be a key role in this position. With the great need for evangelization and helping the parish community to grow, there will also be a need to create and maintain a plan for the future. This position will play a crucial role in developing concrete ways the parish can continue to grow.
