Saint Clement Parish Part-Time Receptionist:
Saint Clement Parish is seeking an outgoing candidate to welcome people and manage our front desk on evenings and weekends, and as a weekday substitute, when needed.
Job Description:
As the first point of contact for the parish, will welcome guests and greet people who visit the parish. Will also coordinate front-desk activities, including answering questions, directing people, accepting items, distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls.
Duties include:
- Offering administrative support across the organization.
- To be successful as a Receptionist, one should have a pleasant personality as this is also a customer service role.
- Should also be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations.
- Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position.
- Flexibility to cover evening and weekend shifts is a plus.
- Receptionist’s duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes guests positively, and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office.
- Direct visitors to the church or the appropriate person and office.
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls.
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures).
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
- Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor doors).
- Forward calendar and meeting requests to the full time receptionist.
- Secure office buildings and church at the end of the final shift for the day.
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying and bulletin inserts.

- Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with office equipment (printers, scanners, postage machines) or willingness to learn.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Customer service attitude with an understanding of a Catholic organization and strong Christian values.
- Associates or further degree preferred.
