Description:

Responsibilities: • Articulate and implement a plan for comprehensive Youth Ministry program in light of the parish vision and mission (See programs below) and the USCCB’s document, Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry consistent with the guidelines of the Youth Ministry Handbook. o Loaves Confirmation program for freshman, sophomores, and juniors o Footprints Retreat o Kairos Retreat o CYO Basketball o Peer Ministry o High School Service Trips o Social and Service opportunities • Collaborates with Pastor and members of parish staff, integrating area of responsibility with the overall parish mission. • Manages the planning, administration, budgeting (with Business manager) and record keeping of parish catechetical programs which include, registration, Sacramental records and catechist information (9-12). • Manage recruitment, orientation, supervision and evaluation of catechists and other catechetical personnel. • Provide ongoing formation opportunities and spiritual development for catechists leading to archdiocesan certification. • Participate in staff meetings and other related meetings for cluster, deanery, vicariate, archdiocesan and ecumenical structure as appropriate. • Coordinate, along with parish on-site administrator, archdiocesan Safe Environment programs for children, volunteers and parents in catechetical programs. • Organizes and conducts Parent Meetings. • Assist with the summer program: Vacation Bible School or Totus Tuus, getting youth volunteers. • Other duties as assigned by the Pastor.

Requirements:

Requirements: Holy Cross is seeking a creative, dynamic Catholic that is comfortable leading teens and parents on their faith journey; BA in Theology or related field required, MA in Theology, Faith Formation, Education, Educational Administration or related field is preferred; Demonstrates competence in Theology, Catechesis, Pastoral Ministry, and Administration; Experience with youth ministry is preferred; Strong communication skills; Ability to multi-task and be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well organized; Has a holistic vision for lifelong formation; Able to collaborate well with others on staff as necessary; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, social media, and website development and maintenance.
