Description:

Major Areas of Responsibilities: • Oversees operations of House of Hope Resale Store, Lake Zurich • Disseminates information regarding policies and procedures to all Department Managers and volunteers as appropriate • Responsible for overseeing the recruiting and retaining of volunteers • Responsible for managing Assistant Manager/Volunteer Coordinator and Porter • Directs all merchandising, operational, and personnel functions • Attend key meetings with store management weekly, monthly, and quarterly • Prepare and communicate regularly to Department Managers and Volunteers • Ensures all clients referred to the store through Project Hope are managed with highest dignity • A demonstrated passion for the mission of Hope Ministries that positively motivates employees and volunteers to produce results that support the ministry • Ensures the quality and productivity of all physical aspects of the store • Overall financial responsibilities for the store including: store opening and closing procedures, bank deposits, weekly and monthly management reports, including State tax reports • Acts as the leader on duty, responding to customer and volunteer concerns, as well as opening and closing the store Specific Responsibilities of the Job: • Supports all the Department Managers activities • Develop and implement yearly promotional calendar • Ability to continuously move around all areas of the store on a daily basis • Able to lift up to 30 pounds • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends • This is a full-time position located in Lake Zurich, IL with scheduling done on a six-month basis. Occasional early mornings and evenings are required. Store operation hours are Monday – Saturday 9-5. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Passion for serving the marginalized in a Catholic faith based environment. • Ability to inspire and motivate • Ability to manage a diverse team of individuals • Demonstrated ability managing day-to-day finances and working knowledge of managing operational expenses. • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. • Experience managing employees, providing daily guidance, building teams and providing constructive performance reviews • Ability to react calmly and professionally to stressful situations Education and Experience: • 4-year college degree • Experience with mission driven organizations • Supervisory level experience in retail or business environment • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, conflict resolution skills, financial and quantitative analysis Hope Ministries, a ministry of Saint Anne Catholic Community, provides emergency assistance to those individuals and families facing crisis, in our area, regardless of faith. Saint Anne’s Hope Ministries is seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee our high volume resale store, House of Hope. Reporting to the Director of Hope Ministries the Store Manger is a mission driven person who supports and presents the mission of St. Anne Hope Ministries to volunteers, customers, clients and the community at large.
