Description:

Major Areas of Responsibility: • Oversight of intake screening and assessment along with accurate and timely documentation of services and resources delivered through the Project Hope Office. • Management responsibility for office manager, store manager, assistant store manager/volunteer coordinator, and store porter (employees) and approximately 200 active volunteers. • Directly responsible for development and training of employees and direct oversight of Project Hope volunteers. • Responsible for organizational development, succession planning, and operational process improvements. • Compile data and reports on key metrics to Parish Administration, Advisory Board, volunteers, staff, and parish as appropriate. • Lead the Caring and Sharing Program and Grants of Hope Program and report as appropriate to Pastor, Board of Advisors, and Parish. • Provide direction and leadership to Project Hope, House of Hope resale store, Hope Chest Food Pantry, and the Mobile Food Pantry. • Work with Saint Anne Business Manager on all financial related manners, which include weekly meetings with the Business Manager and weekly reports to the Pastor. • In conjunction with the Store Manager, oversee the outsourcing relationship with provider to handle furniture pick up and delivery services (not day-to-day operations) • Create a clear messaging strategy and use all parish vehicles of communication and community resources as appropriate Primary Objectives: • In collaboration with Parish Administration and the Hope Ministry Advisory Board, develop strategic plan for Hope Ministries with an emphasis on sustainability of ministry funding, donations, and volunteers. • Ensure annual review of operational guidelines and adherence to those rules. • Encourage continued Archdiocesan based culture that emphasizes service, hope, and respect for human dignity. Specific Responsibilities of the Job: • Manage the work of Project Hope staff and volunteers (Client Facing) including Hope Chest and Mobile Food Pantry and Caring and Sharing (Monthly Gift Committee), Grants of Hope (Annual Grant Committee). Oversee the House of Hope (Resale Store) with a direct relationship with the Store Manager. Encourage the ongoing development of staff and volunteers around common ministry goals. • Ensures fiscal responsibility of donations and resources of the ministry. • Hold strict confidentiality of all Human Resource and client information • Provides oversight of operations, services, policies, programs, and practices. • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to management, Advisors, and Parish to track ministry outcomes. • Represents Hope Ministries at PEAR (Catholic Charities), Human Concerns Commission (St. Anne Ministries), and other parish ministry meetings such as Administration and Core Staff. • Assists in selection of volunteers to represent Hope Ministries at Parish Council and Human Concerns Commission. • Meets regularly with the Pastor and Business Manager to update them on the ministry. • Prepare, communicate and meet quarterly with key constituents; Board of Advisors, Office Volunteers and Store Department Heads. • This is a full time position located at the Project Hope Office located on the St. Anne campus in Barrington. Some evenings, weekends and early mornings maybe required and transportation is required to commute between the office and resale shop (Lake Zurich) Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Passion for serving the marginalized in a Catholic faith based environment • Knowledge of the Catholic faith, culture and traditions • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, operate with discretion and use outstanding judgment • Experience in social work/human services including advocacy, support, and referral. • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks. • Demonstrated ability managing day-to-day finances and working knowledge of managing operational expenses. • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. • Experience with formal funding processes • Ability to react calmly and professionally to stressful situations • Strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office Suite of products Education and Experience: • Bachelor degree required. (Social work/human services or a business degree applied to a social services organization is a plus) • Minimum of five years work experience required (working in community based social services a plus) • A demonstrated ability to effectively develop, manage, and understands both reporting and operational financials. • Experience with ministry work in a parish or Archdiocesan setting. • Proven ability to work with volunteers. • Conversational in Spanish a plus. Hope Ministries is a ministry of St. Anne’s Parish and operates as a local community outreach ministry. Requirements:

Primary responsibility is to provide leadership, management, ministry direction and development to Hope Ministries Volunteers. Additionally oversee the approach for the provision of services to individuals and/or families in crisis. Specific responsibilities include the management of employees and volunteers who provide ministry services and collaboration with other parishes and social service organizations. Position also includes oversight of House of Hope resale shop, Food Pantries, Caring and Sharing Monthly Gift Program and Grants of Hope Annual Program. This role acts as the ambassador of the Project Hope mission to the Parish at large, the House of Hope and the community. This position would report to the Pastor and the Business Manager of St. Anne Catholic Community.
