St. Barnabas Parish is a vibrant Catholic community on Chicago’s southwest side in the Beverly neighborhood. Position Summary: Reporting to the Pastor, the Director of Faith Formation directs the parish efforts to equip all parishioners to encounter Jesus Christ through a lifelong process that engages and encourages them to grow spiritually and intellectually as missionary disciples in the world. The scope of this ministry is throughout the lifetime of the person from birth until death offering opportunities to children, youth, young adults and adults to encounter Christ, deepen their faith, and become active lifelong disciples. Recognizing the important role that families play in faith formation, the Director is responsible for ensuring that methods are created to equip parents with knowledge, skills, and resources to form themselves and to develop the faith life of their children and practice faith at home as a family. This role also focuses its attention beyond the parishioners and into the community as it strives to make disciples, build community and inspire witnesses.
