Description:
Our Lady of the Woods Parish is a large community (2700 families) with many liturgical ministries. Our music ministry involves a variety of settings including organ, piano, along with other instruments. The Director of Music coordinates all music ministries including adult choir, contemporary choir, children’s choir, resurrection choir, cantors, organist and other instrumentalists. He\she directs all choirs, plans music at all liturgies, administers the music budget, organizes programs and rehearsals, schedules music ministers (cantors, choirs, organists, etc.), and maintains music library and storeroom. He\she plays at a minimum of three weekend Masses, as well as funerals and weddings. He\she is a member of the parish staff and works collaboratively with the Director of Liturgy and the Pastor. Commitment to congregation singing is essential.
Requirements:
Previous experience in Catholic Parish Music and Catholic Liturgy is desirable as well as proficiency in keyboard (organ and piano) and voice. Good leadership and communications skills are essential.
