Description:

Dynamic and diverse Catholic parish in Chicago is seeking soprano, alto, tenor, and bass soloists and section leaders to support new Sunday morning choir and sing for holidays, holy days, and various additional Masses/services. Responsibilities include: Regular participation in Sunday morning 10 a.m. Masses supporting the volunteer choir and the occasional Saturday evening Healing Masses. Availability to sing for major holidays, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday and additional Advent and Lenten Liturgies. Other opportunities to solo and perform will be offered. Must maintain VIRTUS training and certificate.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in music. Strong sight-reading skills. Experience or proficiency singing Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony, religious acclamations, and anthems. Experience singing in Latin, Spanish, and Polish, or willingness to learn. Experience working in a ministry setting with amateur and professional musicians. Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the qualities of responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
