Description:
The St. Columbanus Food Pantry is a dynamic community focused initiative of St. Columbanus Church. Serving hundreds of families each week, the St. Columbanus Food Pantry is committed to ending food insecurity in the zip codes of 60619 and 60637. The Coordinator of the Food Pantry assists in managing the nearly 40+ volunteers who support the operations each Wednesday. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible to plan, direct, and coordinate the storage and distribution of food, clothing, and other donated items. Duties and responsibilities include managing daily operations, ordering food, picking up food from sharing parishes/partners, and outreach to community residents.
Requirements:
Education Required: High school graduate, GED or equivalent Education Preferred: Some college; Food Service Sanitation Certificate; Food Handler’s License Experience Required: Prior experience with work in a Food Pantry or other social service setting. Skills Required: Be able to lift or move 50lb boxes.
