Description:
Coordinator/Director for Religious Education St. Rita of Cascia Parish, Chicago is seeking a part-time (avg. of 20 hours per week) coordinator/director of religious education in inner city, predominantly Latino parish, to coordinate our children/youth religious education program. He/she will oversee the faith formation of the children and their families in our community. Responsibilities include developing and administering a curriculum for children and their parents; recruiting and training catechists and volunteers; directing sacramental preparation for Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation; as well as planning and organizing faith-enriching programs for the children, their parents and families. Archdiocesan salary guidelines will be followed, based on it being a part-time position and qualifications.
Requirements:
Catechetical preparation and experience as certified catechist. (Certification as CRE/DRE by the Archdiocese of Chicago preferred.) Courses/background in theology/religious education. Fully bilingual (English/Spanish). Excellent knowledge of word processing and desktop publishing. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Active, organized, and with initiative. Facility for teamwork.
