Description:

Liturgy Training Publications, an agency of the Archdiocese of Chicago, is seeking a Print and Resource Project Coordinator to negotiate, arrange for, and coordinate the purchase of all paper, printing, and binding, along with any other product manufacturing requirements, of all editorial and marketing projects, including reprints of LTP products as necessary. This position is responsible for purchases of all products that LTP distributes, both domestic and international. A successful candidate will develop working relationships with printers and binders and represent LTP's interests in negotiations. This work would include creating RFQ's and PO's, presenting printing options to management, and monitoring inventories for low stocks. The position works closely with the Managing Editor in coordinating and monitoring production schedules and maintaining the SharePoint product record database. Requirements:

• College degree with five years’ experience in publishing or related field. • Advanced knowledge and understanding of publishing industry; specific knowledge of the religious publishing industry a plus. • Solid background in manufacturing purchasing for publishing; a minimum of two years previous experience essential. • Excellent understanding of production terminology and processes, thorough knowledge of print processes, proofing systems, binding, pricing, and paper selection. • Dedication to quality in manufacturing of books, periodicals and other publications. • Effective negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written. • Strong organizational skills and willingness to do extensive research. • Professional approach and ability to represent LTP to a wide range of outside suppliers. • Computer efficiency and understanding of multiple applications. Knowledge of SharePoint and Web media, and experience with project tracking software preferred. • Spanish language skills a plus. • Must demonstrate understanding, respect, and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission, and values.
