Description:
Liturgy Training Publications is seeking a Production Artist and Designer to assist in the development of projects, function as production artist and/or designer for internal projects as assigned, offer solutions as needed related to all production difficulties, finalize projects in archives, produce e-books when requested, and work to ensure all projects maintain LTP quality and brand identification.
The staff person in this position acts as production artist and/or designer on specific projects, including work on any LTP resources assigned for internal production, formatting type in page position according to the designer's comps or specs, keying in proofreader’s changes as necessary, and working with InCopy/InDesign, maintaining file integrity, setting preferences, efficiencies, and standardized processes. The production artist and designer maintains all information for assigned projects to ensure that processes are followed and will have the opportunity to create and manage designs based on their established product concepts. An ability to manage multiple projects and details is critical.

Requirements:
A college degree is required; a degree in graphic design or media studies is preferred. Proficiency with Adobe’s Creative Suite and with the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to operate Mac systems and software, including the current Mac OS.
Additional Requirements:
The successful applicant must have an understanding of basic design principles and color theory, along with knowledge of proofreader marks and advanced type specifications. HTML and design for web and new media is a plus. Experience designing in print is needed, while book design with familiarity with CMS is preferred. Fluency in English is required, with the ability to read and write Spanish a plus.
