Description:

The Cenacle Convent, Inc., a non-profit entity, is currently seeking a full-time IT Support Specialist. The IT Support Specialist reports directly to the Director of Facilities Management. Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software problems, as well as monitoring, updating, and maintaining computers not supported by the IT management company. Candidate must have a pleasant demeanor, excellent communication skills, and an ability for problem solving. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Act as initial point of contact with vendors and service providers for all computer and systems related concerns. Listed are the vendors and providers: •PCS Computer Services; •Comcast and RCN; •Vision I; •Element74; •Security Metrics; •Tech Soup; •WordPress 2.Purchase, installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrade of computer hardware, software, network infrastructure and peripherals in collaboration with the IT management company.3.Initial troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software challenges in consultation with our IT management company, as necessary, for complex issues. 4.Monitoring, updating, and maintaining computers not supported by the IT management company. 5. Resolution of technical issues related to network interruptions. 6. Administer telephone, HVAC, security, and any other systems attached to the local networks. 7.Administer G-Suite and Cenacle email accounts. 8.Maintain a working log of requests for technical assistance, steps taken to resolve, dates, machines, and users involved. 9. Organize and file documentation pertaining to software licenses, warranties, and instructional guides for computer hardware. 10. Provide help desk and hands-on assistance to staff and Sisters in the Chicago area to resolve computer and systems related problems 11. Provide occasional remote support for Sisters living offsite, both within and outside of the greater Chicago area. 12. Facilitate user training for staff and Sisters on hardware and software, providing instruction or written documentation as necessary. 13. Maintain inventory and order equipment and supplies as necessary. 14.Clean and re-use or recycle computers and peripherals that have been replaced. 15. Establish and maintain cell phone programs for Sisters and employees throughout the Province with multiple cell phone carriers. 16. Assist with video conferencing and/or Zoom. 17. Provides other duties as assigned. This is a full-time, exempt position. Based on IT needs, this position may need to be available outside of normal business hours. Requirements:

1.Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience. 2.Minimum of three years of experience in database, network and/or systems support. 3.Extensive knowledge of Windows including experience with Windows XP, 7 and 10; Windows Server 2012 and 2016, MS Office 2010, 2016, and Microsoft 365. 4.Good knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware and networking protocols. 5.Experience in developing and implementing IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols. 6.Excellent communication and listening skills. 7.An ability to work with both experienced staff and an older population who have limited capacity for hearing and working with remote help. 8.Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships. 9.Flexible and adaptable, able to work in ambiguous situations. 10. Organized with a natural inclination for planning. 11.Problem solving and root cause identification skills. 12. Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others. 13.High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. 14.Proficiency in English. 15.Excellent customer service orientation
