Description:

Faith Formation Assistant St. Margaret Mary Parish in Naperville is seeking a Faith Formation Assistant as a resource to the catechists and Faith Formation Directors of our parish. Their work involves managing supplies, technology support and program setup in addition to assisting during class times. Familiarity with Catholic practices and tradition is necessary and experience with database (PDS), online platforms and office software is important. This 28 hour part time position will require some flexible hours based on special events and the needs of the program. Please send resume and cover letter to dlawler@youthwithheart.com Position Duties: 1. Responds to requests from catechists for finding substitutes, teaching supplies, equipment and information. (office supplies inventory, copying material, transporting, set-up, troubleshooting for audio/visual equipment, adding videos to network storage and Youtube playlists). 2. Maintains Parish Data System database regarding registrations, tuition, sacraments., etc. 3. Accepts registration forms for classes, events, and sacraments related to programs. 4. Monitors attendance process for Faith Formation including check-in such as taking temperatures of arriving students and maintaining order at dismissal. 5. Assist with virtual classes and meetings including troubleshooting and supervision. 6. Set up large group events and assist at several events throughout the year, i.e. retreats, parent meetings, and sacraments. 7. Assists part-time secretary as needed (booklets and class schedules, mailings). 8. Makes, answers and directs phone calls; sorts and distributes mail; other duties as assigned. Hours: (Vary including some evenings and weekends based on the needs of the program) August - May Annually Mondays 9:00-5:00 Tuesdays 9:15-5:15 Wednesdays 10:00-6:00 Thursdays or Fridays 9:00-12:00 (flexible)

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience as receptionist or secretary preferred. Working with volunteers and/or in a non-profit environment is helpful. This position requires good judgment, sensitivity to confidentiality, good communications skills, and an ability to work in a team environment. Strong technology skills are a plus. Knowledge of Catholic tradition and practices is crucial.
