Description:
The Director of the Office for Hispanic and Ethnic Ministries promotes greater involvement of Hispanic Catholics in the Diocese of Joliet at all levels and encourages diocesan and parish leaders to welcome and invite the full participation of Hispanics within the local Church. He or she is to provide a diocesan connection for the needs and expressions of the various ethnicities within the diocese, and provide advocacy and support to diocesan offices in serving the needs of Hispanic and ethnic communities.
This is a full-time exempt position, with benefits, that will require attending frequent weekend and evening activities and meetings. The normal work schedule is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday.

Requirements:
A Master’s in Theology or Pastoral Ministry is required and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Hispanic Ministry or a related field. Must have good organizational and administrative skills and knowledge of the cultures of the ethnic communities in the diocese. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in both Spanish and English, and a willingness to be involved in activities which further Hispanic and all ethnic interests. This is a ministerial position and must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church.
