Description:
Holy Cross Parish, a vibrant, welcoming parish with 1,100 families, seeks a Coordinator of Faith Formation for children. The Coordinator of Faith Formation provides leadership for all aspects of parish formation programs for children (K-8). The Coordinator of Faith Formation for children plans and leads catechetical sessions, retreats, service projects, prayer services and parent meetings for grades K-8. The Coordinator recruits, trains and supports K-8 catechetical volunteers. This person also leads sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and oversees the Liturgy of the Word for Children program Sunday mornings.
Requirements:
Holy Cross is seeking a creative, dynamic Catholic that is comfortable leading children and parents on their faith journey; BA in Theology or related field required, MA in Theology, Faith Formation, Education, Educational Administration or related field is preferred; Demonstrates competence in Theology, Catechesis, Pastoral Ministry, and Administration; Experience with family catechesis or willing to employ this model; Strong communication skills; Ability to multi-task and be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well organized; Able to supervise others and oversee/manage a holistic vision for lifelong formation; Able to collaborate well with others on staff as necessary; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, social media, and website development and maintenance.
