Job Responsibilities
• Religious Education
o Establish relationships and maintain consistent communication channels with parish staff, teachers, and Religious Education families, ensuring they are informed and updated on program information.
o Evaluate and requisition resources (textbooks, classroom materials, worship aids) that support curriculum goals and complement the religious education efforts of the parish.
o Oversee the parish Religious Education program, serving approximately 340 students and a team of volunteer catechists.
o Organize and plan prayer and sacramental opportunities and events for St. Christina children and their families.
o Facilitate the spiritual and professional growth of teachers and volunteers.
o Develop schedules for the celebration of Religious Education Masses and the Sacrament of Confession.
o Create a Parish Religious Education Committee. Organize and lead Religious Education Committee meetings.
• Sacramental Preparation
o Assist with preparation for and celebration of the Sacraments (First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation) for students in the school and Religious Education.
o Work with parents to track and maintain records of students’ fulfillment of preparation requirements.
o Secure materials to assist parents, teachers, catechists, and students in their preparation for the sacraments.
o Plan and facilitate parent meetings to begin the period of preparation for the sacraments.
o Facilitate formation for non-Catholic children seeking to be received into the Catholic Church as needed.
o Work with the Pastor and Music Director to plan the liturgies associated with the reception of the Sacraments.
Job Requirements
• Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, with a strong understanding of Catholic theology and traditions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or in a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of three years of experience in religious education, catechesis, or a related ministry.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with parish staff, volunteers, and families.
• Proficiency in using digital tools and resources for communication and program management.
• Ability to lead and motivate others and delegate effectively.
• Commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children and youth.
• Desire to share our Faith with parishioners of all ages, especially the youth.

Job Summary
St. Christina Parish seeks to bring the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to its families and community. To that end, the Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) is responsible for working with the pastor and associate pastor to oversee the religious education and formation programs at St. Christina Parish.
The CRE will also organize and oversee the preparation for and celebration of the Sacraments for the children of the parish. The CRE will develop and implement a curriculum that fosters an understanding of Catholic teaching and a relationship with Jesus Christ. CRE will work with the pastor to equip teachers to implement that curriculum and strengthen that relationship with Christ.
