Description:
The Director of Lifelong Faith Formation at St. Mary of Vernon fosters encounters with Jesus Christ through faith formation programs, prayer, and the sacraments. This role involves planning and implementing educational initiatives for all ages, collaborating with staff to build an inclusive and dynamic faith community.
**Faith Formation Leadership**
- Oversee K-6 Religious Education, including First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
- Develop programs that promote lifelong spiritual growth and discipleship.
- Design intergenerational faith formation opportunities.
**Specialized Programs**
- Train ministry leaders for Baptism Preparation, Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW), SPRED, OCIA, and Young Adult programs.
- Address diverse learning needs with tailored support.
**Community Engagement & Administration**
- Organize workshops, events, and Vacation Bible School (VBS).
- Maintain records for students, catechists, and volunteers, overseeing registration and enrollment.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers while ensuring Safe Environment policy compliance.
- Utilize various communication channels to promote programs.
- Develop annual faith formation calendars in coordination with parish operations.
- Manage the Lifelong Faith Formation budget in partnership with the Director of Operations.
- Collaborate with parish staff, vicariates, and diocesan leaders to enhance programming and community partnerships.
Requirements:
Required Skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Confident teaching, communication, and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in Office 365 and database management.
• Experience in implementing diverse educational materials and methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with parish staff, volunteers, and program participants.
Qualifications
• Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic teachings and a commitment to the Church's mission.
• Bachelor’s degree in pastoral studies, theology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Familiarity with Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements (e.g., VIRTUS, Mandated Reporter).
• Prior experience in education, administration, or faith formation.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and attend special events as needed.
