Description:
Position Title: Communications Coordinator
Employment Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Operations
The Communications Coordinator is an integral part of St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church’s communication efforts. This part-time administrative position collaborates closely with the bulletin editor and is responsible for creating and managing marketing materials, including social media content, website and app updates, flyers, and graphics to support parish events and announcements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create content using Canva for parish social media platforms and other marketing channels (e.g., website, app, emails, and digital displays) to promote events and initiatives.
• Maintain and update the parish’s social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Capture and curate photos of parish events to enhance community engagement.
• Stay informed on communication trends and technologies, offering strategic recommendations to expand the parish's reach both online and in print.
• Effectively manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills.
• Collaborate with parishioners, staff, and supervisors while maintaining professional working relationships.
• Provide communication support to staff and ministries as needed.
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations. Hours & Pay: Up to 20 hours/week. Pay range $15-$18/hour depending on qualifications.

Qualifications:
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.
• Expertise in Canva.
• Proficiency in social media marketing, particularly Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Experience with Office 365, website design, and app design.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and attend special events as needed.
• Passion for the Catholic faith and enthusiasm for sharing it with others.
