Coordinator of New Member Outreach & Member Engagement

Description:

The coordinator is responsible for new member welcome and engagement, as well as parish-wide member engagement. The coordinator oversees the parish Welcome Committee, Engagement Committee, and the Hospitality Team and is responsible for job assignments, mentoring others in this ministry, and the coordination of all new member activities. The coordinator is responsible for the ongoing review and implementation of the parish welcome and engagement strategies & hospitality planning.

• Collaborates with other members of the staff and parish volunteers in strengthening the mission of Saint Clement.

• Leads ongoing efforts of new member welcome, engagement and development.

• Trains and develops parish leaders who will help to own and effectively implement parish engagement strategy.

• Oversees planning for Sunday hospitality ministers and coordinates hospitality calendars.

• Collaborates with communication team on effective welcome and ongoing communication to new members.

• All other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Passionate about and committed to the Mission of the Catholic Church, Saint Clement and the Archdiocese of Chicago.

• Demonstrates understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission and values.

• Practicing Catholic.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.

• Minimum three years of experience in member engagement, hospitality and welcome industry.

• Proven track record coaching or developing others.

• Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with people from varied social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

• Exceptional project management and detail-oriented skills.

• Culturally and politically astute; understands implicit and explicit decision-making processes.

• Strong read of people and situations; able to ascertain needs and match resources.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems.

• Availability for overtime, evening or weekend work.
