Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Clean the building facilities according to set procedures and schedules.
-Prioritize tasks depending on seasonal workflow.
-Clean and disinfect all bathrooms to ensure the surfaces–including toilets, sinks, counters, shelves, mirrors, doors/handles, and floors–are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
-Maintain the cleanliness of offices and common areas, including the kitchen and breakroom areas by cleaning, wiping, dusting, and polishing the following areas and others as needed: refrigerator, microwave, windows, cabinets, countertops, doors, mirrors, hanging pictures, light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, furniture, etc.
-Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish all tiled floors and vacuum hallways and office spaces.
-Remove trash and recyclables from receptacles, toss refuse into appropriate outdoor dumpsters, and replace bags.
-Use necessary equipment and materials to accomplish tasks, such as walk-behind floor machines and vacuum cleaners. Ensure equipment is cleaned and stored properly following use.
-Replenish bathroom supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitizer, air freshener, etc.
-Maintain supplies and equipment inventory, communicating with the Facilities Manager when needs arise.
-Evaluate the building and equipment and notify the Facilities Manager of any necessary repairs to building and/or equipment noticed.
-Assist in maintaining building security procedures.
-Light snow removal and/or salting.
Other Responsibilities
-Work with staff and parishioners to accomplish various tasks.
-Maintain an open line of communication via email and phone.
-Attend a monthly staff meeting (third Tuesday of the month from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.).
-Additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Requirements:
●High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Trade school education is desirable.
●Custodial and/or maintenance experience required.
●Skills in maintenance procedures, electrical, and plumbing maintenance desirable.
●Capacity for sustained physical activity necessary.
●Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and full range of motion in bending and lifting.
●Ability to use power equipment.
●Knowledge of janitorial supplies and chemicals, including hazardous materials.
●Must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with others.
●Must have reliable transportation.
●Must support the mission, philosophy, objectives and policies of the Catholic Church and the Diocese of Joliet, and be open to prayer & faith sharing in all aspects of work.
Work Schedule
This position is an hourly, part-time position working Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.; Saturday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
