Description:
The finance department of the Diocese of Joliet is seeking an accomplished professional with training/education and experience in payroll. The position is responsible for managing vendor files and records. Processing vendor and expense payments for all diocesan agencies and offices. Overseeing payroll functions. This includes the bi-weekly processing of payroll for all Diocesan and Cemetery employees.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with full benefits package. Normal work week is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. Some overtime may be required during busy periods.

Requirements:
•Process invoices for payment, verify supporting documentation, and ensure proper approval; Prepare and mail vendor checks; Prepare weekly agency reports on vendor payments; Maintain W-9 files and issue required 1099 forms at year-end; Perform vendor analysis as needed; Maintain accurate accounts payable files.
Payroll:
•Process and reconcile electronic timesheets for diocesan employees on a weekly basis; Process bi-weekly payroll through Paylocity; Maintain employee payroll files and benefit (time off) accrual records; Prepare monthly pension reports; Assist parishes with payroll or Paylocity-related questions as needed.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
•Assist the Senior Accountant and Diocesan Finance Director in preparing reports for the annual audit; Perform various projects and other tasks for the Finance Office as required; Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters; Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Diocesan Finance and Accounting.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent with experience in processing payables and payroll; Experience with payroll software, preferably Paylocity; Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on spreadsheet skills; Some college education is preferred; Ability to multitask while managing a consistent flow of transactions.
