Catholic Charities Violence Prevention programs have recently expanded in Chicago’s west side community of Austin, an area that is plagued by gangs, drugs, crime, and violence. Gina Cleggs and Christie Richardson join Monsignor Boland for a conversation on the many causes of violence and how Catholic Charities is working to create safer communities.

Mentoring Youth in Underserved Communities

Catholic Charities has youth mentoring programs in both Lake County and Chicago’s Back of the Yards community. Through these programs, adults work to provide youth with positive role experiences and serve as a friend in times of need.
