Dare to Love

1st Thursday Monthly 8-8:30 a.m.

Dare to Love is a program that cultivates vocation awareness in the Archdiocese of Chicago through discussion of topics related to vocation discernment and promotion. Dare to Love is hosted by Sister Lovina Francis Pammit, OSF with co-host Sister Mary Kay Brooks, SSND.

Sr. Lovina is a Franciscan Sister of the Sacred Heart and is the Coordinator of Religious Vocations Ministries in the Office for Religious of the Archdiocese of Chicago and serves as Coordinator of CAVA.

Sr. Mary Kay is the Vocation Director for the School Sisters of Notre Dame currently serving on the CAVA Advisory Board.

CAVA (Chicago Archdiocesan Vocation Association) is a ministry of the Office for Religious (OFR) in the Archdiocese of Chicago. CAVA is an association of Roman Catholic Religious Sisters, Brothers, Priests, Consecrated Laity and others who are active in and supportive of vocation ministry. Members of CAVA belong to or avidly support religious congregations, secular institutes and lay ecclesial movements serving the People of God in the Archdiocese of Chicago. CAVA’s purpose is to nurture a Culture of Vocations within the Catholic Church. Our twofold purpose is to promote general vocation awareness and to invite young men and women to discern a vocation to consecrated life.

Considering Various Ways to Pray as New Year’s Resolution!

Sister Lovina and Sister Mary Kay discuss various prayer forms not commonly known but easy to incorporate in our daily lives as a way to start the new year and develop a prayer practice as disciples/followers of Jesus. Try prayer walking (maybe a labyrinth walk!) or using music and poetry to help quiet our centers and make space for God. Prayer can be the container/unifying factor to help us with our top resolutions (better health practices, saving money or improving our relationships).
