Description:
Primary responsibility is to plan music and provide musical accompaniment for Masses and other special parish celebrations.
Duties include:
1. Responsible for music for assigned weekend Masses.
2. Practice music with choir and cantors.
3. Responsible for scheduling practice sessions with choir, as necessary.
4. Provide music for special parish celebrations.
5. Create music worship aids.
6. Available to play for funerals and weddings as requested, extra stipend provided.
7. Assist the Mission Director with the Mary, Seat of Wisdom's Music Director, if needed, in the area of general planning of the music program.
Requirements:
Education Required: High School, College degree preferred.
Experience Required: Proven training in music accompaniment on organ and/or other instruments, an understanding of Catholic liturgy.
Skills Required: Proficient knowledge and experience in piano, organ and voice.
Other Required: Expected to direct, practice and lead all parish choir and cantors.
