Description:

Business Manager Saint Catherine Laboure, Parish Glenview, IL Saint Catherine Laboure Parish is an active suburban parish of approximately 1200 families located in Glenview, IL. The parish is seeking to hire an experienced Business Manager. General: The Business Manager (BM) is responsible for all financial matters for the parish, school, and all related missions and activities of Saint Catherine Laboure. The BM is to manage operations regarding accounting, stewardship, communications, work flow, and personnel. The BM is to coordinate implementations of best practices, as define by the Archdiocese of Chicago. The BM needs to work closely with the pastor regarding both short and long term goals of the parish as well as to coordinate capital campaigns and fundraisers as needed. The BM must follow best practices for all financial responsibilities, transparency in reporting information, and general preparation of any data. The BM should be able to do any or all Human Resources for the parish and the school.

Specific Duties:

o Accounting Payroll and benefits for all church personnel. Budget

o Prepare parish and school operations budget with staff and finance council assessing needs of the ministries and facilities.

o Support development of operating and capital budgeting of the school.

o Communicate status and progress at the respective board meetings. Reporting

o Prepare and forecast monthly and annual financial statements for the parish.

o File timely reports with the Archdiocese.

o Prepare and forecast monthly and annual school financial statements.

o Facilitate best practice sharing between the parish and the school.  

o Cash manager – pay bills, deposit and track income and cash flow / Monitor auxiliary accounts of the parish.

o Monitor donation reporting, making sure all money deposited is posted to donor and all donations posted to donor are deposited to the back. Supervise count teams. Follow best practices in handling the monies.

o Staff representative on the Finance Council. Present monthly reports, provide reports as requested.

o Keep books and records for operations.

o Prepare cash forecast and projections.

o  Office manager o Supervise all support personnel.

o Schedule and hire support personnel, determine needs for staffing. o Maintain adequate office spaces and equipment as needed.

o The BM is to manage the maintenance workers for the both the Parish and school, maintaining the campus, as well as monitoring sick, personal, and vacation days.

o The BM should oversee the Summer repairs and cleaning schedules and work with outside companies that we hire.

Oversee and be the liaison for camps that utilize our school grounds during the Summer. Including walk throughs before camps start, and final walk through to inspect for damage.

o Connect with partnering camps about contracts, as well as the Archdiocese.

 

Requirements:

Qualifications: Education: Undergraduate Degree Graduate Degree (Preferred) Experience preferred: Has a minimum of three years business or not-for-profit management experience. Church management experience is desirable. Skills Required: Is knowledgeable of the principles of accounting. Is knowledgeable of safety and security issues. Is knowledgeable in personnel management, including policies, procedures, selection, benefits, federal and state laws, employee motivation, team building, etc. Is knowledgeable of budgeting, financial management, and marketing Is adept in Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheet, and database.) Personal Traits: Strong Interpersonal Skills. Is A good team member and has a “Service Mindset” when working with others. Strong Leadership Skills. Able to identify issues, work with others to develop action plans, and lead staff and volunteers to reach resolution. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Strong drive to achieve results. Other Required: Proven track record of success in leadership position overseeing operations of an organization with staff, board, donors, and parishioners.
