Description:
Holy Cross Parish, a vibrant, welcoming parish with 1,200 families, seeks a Director of Faith Formation for Children and Youth. The Director of Faith Formation provides leadership for all aspects of parish formation programs for children and teens.
The Director of Faith Formation for Children and Youth plans and leads catechetical sessions, retreats, service projects, prayer services, and social events for all ages. The Director recruits, trains, and supports catechists and youth ministry volunteers. This person also leads sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation and oversees the Liturgy of the Word for Children program.
Requirements:
Holy Cross is seeking a creative, dynamic Catholic that is comfortable leading all ages of people on their faith journeys; BS in Theology or related field is required, MA in Theology, Faith Formation, Education, Educational Administration or related field is preferred,. Demonstrated competence in Theology, Catechesis, Pastoral Ministry and Administration; experience with family catechesis or willing to employ this model, because Holy Cross used a family-based catechetical model; strong communication skills; ability to multi-task and be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized.; able to supervise others and oversee/manage a holistic vision for lifelong formation; able to collaborate well with others on staff as necessary; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, social media and website development and maintenance.
