Food Service Worker / Events Assistant

Job Description, Requirements & Responsibilities:

Everyday Front of the house server duties as usual---set ups, maintains and takes down food lines, clean & sanitize all equipment, tables, and chairs. Stock all dining rooms. Set and label food lines for the next meal


Must be able to lift 20# un-aided


Repetitive Motions this position requires: Bending, pushing/pulling, light lifting, and standing in one spot for periods of time, walking distances (on and off site)


Candidate must have a positive and teamwork attitude.


Candidate must be extremely flexible with changes in menus, set-ups, and banquets/receptions/functions.


Set up & clean up Villa for banquets/receptions. Including turning on, ovens, heat or A/C

Remain and lock villa after banquets/receptions if/when needed.


Set up and clean up staff luncheons (in living room, theology building or coffee rooms)


Set up and clean up events/functions/receptions/banquets in: Aula, Library, McEssy Center, Deacon and Theo rec hall Pine Meadows Golf Course, Private Dining Room, Sister’s Dining Room, Faculty Dining room, North/South Dining Room, and all other buildings as needed.


Set up Rooms for Banquets/Receptions & Re-set room after banquets/receptions


Prepare and/or set up for off-site student meals.


Inspect tables for clean & spotless plates/silverware/cups etc. for banquets/receptions/functions. Clean the above mentioned if/when necessary.


Work in kitchen for clearing area for dishes after banquets/receptions as assigned by assistant director


Awareness of linen: Set aside tablecloths/napkins for banquets/reception/functions

Be aware of lined count, especially during back to back to back functions.


Work in Hallway for banquets as needed and/or assigned by assistant director


Prepare, label, mark and date, all socials, cookouts, coffee services, continentals, receptions, as needed for pick up and/or deliveries.


Prepare and set-up bars for Tuesday Faculty Dinners, Banquets and Receptions.


Take down, inventory and put away bars, after Tuesday Faculty Dinners, Banquets and Receptions and other functions as needed.


Banquets/Reception/Functions: Required to closely with Assistant Director, and able to work independently. Be flexible and patient with changes.


Filling in as a cook if/when needed.



There are many times when the refectory and our staff will have banquets/reception/functions that are back to back to back and still serve everyday meals. A professional, non-complaining attitude is expected and appreciated.






Valid sanitation license, valid driver’s license, customer service skills, food service skills,

 time management skills, organized, able to multitask, extreme observations to details,

Must be able to delegate and follow thru with tasks. Monthly Inventory


Work Experience PREFERRED:

High Volume Cooking, computer skills (word/excel)
