Basic Functions:

  • Coordinates the annual Retirement Fund for Religious Appeal in all parishes of the Archdiocese and develops a working relationship with parish staffs
  • Creates a publicity campaign for Archdiocesan and metropolitan media outlets
  • Monitors and acknowledges all donations

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with parishes in preparation for appeal by letter, email and phone.  Directs and informs parish staff of process for the appeal and offers assistance as requested
  • Mobilizes involvement of religious congregations in the appeal through recruitment of appeal speakers and giving some form of visible presence to the appeal on the weekend of the collection
  • Works with the National Religious Retirement Office to produce radio and TV spots and print ads publicizing the appeal as necessary
  • Oversees creation, translation, and distribution of letter of support from Archbishop to all parishioners prior to the appeal
  • Monitors record-keeping of parish and individual donations and acknowledges donations as they are received
  • Prepares documents memos and other confidential correspondence under the direction of the Vicar.
  • Assists Associate Director in various projects
  • Participates in the Day of Consecrated Life, Archdiocesan Jubilee Celebration and Archbishop's Convocation with Leaders of Religious Communities
  • Works with Office of Religious Staff to produce monthly newsletter and update Office for Religious website


  • College degree preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of religious communities and consecrated life
  • Member of a religious order preferred
  • Public relations experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good relational skills in dealing with different publics and professionals
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills - Word and Excel
  • Detail-oriented
  • Professional demeanor, works well with others or alone, diplomatic
  • Must demonstrate understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission and values
