Peace Notes... Take Note

From the Office

New Year Blessings to all!

Got your New Year resolutions in order? Have room for one more on that list of yours? How about this one for starters?!

Try to practice peace every day; work to be a source of peace – one “piece of peace” at a time: one peaceful thought, action, or word at a time.

Give it a try this year … “Peace by piece!”

And here’s the perfect start to your peace journey:

Prayer of St. Francis:

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy;
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Consider: Refer to the prayer (or one like it) each day or often. I have found that it has a bonus attached to it – a sudden calming and peace “provoking” effect on me.
