Rejoice Always! - Advent Day of Reflection and Reconciliation

By Fr. Richard Fragomeni

It’s here. The time to go beyond our old ways of thinking is now.  Advent is a time of quiet grace, of repentance and renewal of our hearts.  This precious time of preparation and waiting for the coming of the Lord calls us to deep reflection.

For over a decade, The Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii has offered an Advent Day of Reflection and Reconciliation that seeks to do just that with a day of prayer, spiritual direction, meditation and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Our Advent mission is to provide a place of hospitality and welcome into the mysteries of the season.

On December 10th we will come together to ‘rejoice always’ knowing that the mercy and goodness of God have no limits.  We will do a meditation on the Opening Prayer of the four Sundays of Advent in the new Roman Missal as a way to lead us into a deeper appreciation of the season.  Freed from old thoughts, we seek transformation that will break open our hearts and renew our minds.  Let us rejoice in the One Who Saved Us in the possibilities of now and of what is to come.
