2011 Chicago Catholic Men’s Conference, March 19, 2011

It has been a grace to work with the Catholic Men of Chicago on this year’s Conference.  This day is the culmination of many months of prayerful preparation and hard work on the part of many dedicated Catholic men who have a heart for sharing the Good news of Jesus Christ with other men.

The Conference provides a venue for men to realize that it is good to talk about God and our Catholic faith.  It is about reaching out to men who have questions about their church and spirituality.  It is about inviting the Holy Spirit to occupy more of the mind and heart.  It is about affirming God’s love for all of us, and helping us understand that the Holy Spirit can truly make a difference in our lives.

If ever there was a time for men to hear the Good News proclaimed, it’s now.  It is no secret that we are living through some very difficult and challenging times as a nation.  As husbands, fathers, and heads of households, our faith, leadership and resolve will be put to the test like never before.  Now more than ever, we need to cling to the words of our Lord Jesus Christ who reassures us, “Be not afraid!”

The Conference is designed for English and Spanish speaking men who desire to understand their faith and improve their relationship with others.  Well known and inspirational speakers will focus on how men and their sons can be instrumental in renewing their family life, their Church and society as a whole.

This year’s Conference includes professional sports figures, priests, award- winning broadcasters, journalist and authors, and Mass will be celebrated by, His Eminence, Francis Cardinal George O.M.I.  There will be time for private prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, reconciliation and inspirational music.

If you are not sure this event is for you, remember...we are just normal guys like yourself who simply want to learn more about our faith.  We are brought together by the Holy Spirit to reach out to all God's men, Catholic, non-Catholic, fallen away and others looking to deepen their faith.
