    Encountering the Risen Lord

    One of the most insightful comments I ever heard about Easter came from Fr. Ed Foley, professor of Liturgy and Music at Catholic Theological Union.  It was several years ago, and those comments were shared in an Easter Sunday homily he gave at a Mass I attended.  Did you ever sit there, listening intently to the homily, and just know the presider was talking directly to you? This was one of those times.

    Theology-on-Tap and the Search for Meaning

    The Young Adult years (20s & 30s) are a time of asking some really deep, meaning-seeking questions.  My high school English teacher, Mr. Paul Baltz, used to refer to "the Alfie question."  Just what is it all about, anyway?  He went on to teach us a brilliant strategy of logical reasoning, involving the value of grappling with IRQ’s - Issue Raising Questions.
