Calling All Young Adults! Theology on Tap is Underway!

Theology on Tap is underway in the Archdiocese of Chicago for the 35th summer in a row. What a wonderful milestone to celebrate! Theology on Tap started right here in Chicago at St. James Parish in Arlington Heights. In the past thirty-five years it has grown throughout the country to over 180 dioceses in the country and internationally to almost every continent in the world.

Jesus in the Streets of Chicago 2015

The Young Adult Eucharistic Procession, “Jesus in the Streets of Chicago,” is a multicultural celebration of our Catholic Faith that will take place this Saturday, June 6.  The procession will begin at 4 p.m. at St. Peter’s in the Loop, located at 110 West Madison Street.   This same weekend we will also be joining with the Catholic Church throughout the world in celebrating the Feast of Corpus Christi.

Celebrating the Kick-off to World Youth Day 2016 on Palm Sunday

We, at the Young Adult Ministry Office, are very excited to celebrate Palm Sunday and the international World Youth Day this year at Holy Name Cathedral on March 29th. World Youth Day is an international celebration by the Church to recognize the importance of young people in the life of the Catholic community of faith. Started by St. John Paul II in 1985, the World Youth Day experiences continue to be the largest gathering of young Catholics throughout the world.

Theology on Tap is Alive and Well!

As the summer comes into full swing, the Young Adult Ministry Office (YAM) has been through a lot of changes. However, we are very happy that one thing that has stayed the same is Theology-on-Tap.

The Excitement of World Youth Day 2011 Is In Chicago, Too!

I pray that all the parish and high school communities of the Archdiocese of Chicago are excited about the upcoming World Youth Day celebrations! Though we celebrate World Youth Day every year on Palm Sunday internationally, here in the United States it is celebrated on the 30th Sunday of Ordinary Time. However, the biggest celebrations happen every three years when Catholic youth make pilgrimage from all over the world to celebrate our faith and our love of Christ and His Church! So this month, Pope Benedict has invited the youth of the Catholic Church to gather in Madrid, Spain for the 13th international World Youth Day celebration.

KAIROS Retreats Helping Teenagers Grow in the Faith

With the Year of Teens and Young Adults starting this month, it helps to think about our own faith when we were teenagers.  When I was a teenager, I was pretty confident I knew everything I needed to know about God and my faith. Having grown up Catholic and being a part of a faithful family, this was an easy assumption for me to have. That was until I went on a KAIROS retreat.
