The Chicago Catholic Campaign for Human Development Announces Over Quarter-Million Dollars in Grants Twenty Local Recipient Groups Work in Chicago and Suburbs

The Chicago Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) of the Archdiocese of Chicago will announce grants totaling almost $300,000 to twenty-one community-based organizations on Wednesday, September 1, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, 1351 West Evergreen in Chicago. Most Rev. Francis Kane, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, will celebrate Mass at 5 p.m. and Rev. James Moriarty, founder of the Chicago Catholic Campaign for Human Development, will be honored during the award ceremony. Last year the Chicago CCHD collection drew participation by over ninety-five percent of Archdiocesan parishes. The 2010 collection will take place in parishes across Cook and Lake Counties during the weekend of November 20 and 21.

The Chicago Catholic Campaign for Human Development is the Archdiocese of Chicago’s domestic anti-poverty, social justice program that has as its mission to address and combat the root causes of poverty in America.

All are invited to the Mass and award ceremony. A buffet dinner following Mass does require reservations and a donation of $20 is requested. For more information and reservations contact the Chicago CCHD office at 312-534-3894.
