Description:

Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph Parish is located in Chicago’s near north side. The Parish Sacramental Coordinator administrates (designs, develops, directs and evaluates) the total parish Sacramental Program and provides leadership to assist Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph Parish is developing life-long disciples on a mission who are committed to praying, serving, growing, sharing and belonging in Jesus’ name.

Currently there are 326 students in our Parish School and 12 students enrolled on our Religious Education Program that is combined with St. Michael’s Parish in Old Town.

Essential Responsibilities:

•Designs and implements a Sacramental Program that supports the overall life-long formation.

•Directs Children’s Sacramental Preparations, Levels K-8.

•Co-directs the Rite Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program.

•Coordinates ministerial initiatives that promote family involvement in the parish.

•Coordinates Baptismal and Wedding Ministries.

•Serves as Site Administrator for Protecting God's Children program.

Requirements:

•Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church.

• Knowledge of Church documents, origins and development of the Church’s teachings in sacraments, theology, spirituality, scripture and liturgy.

• Bachelor’s in Theology preferred; or Bachelor’s Degree with 24 credit hours in theology or religious education.

• Minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience ministry or service work; to include experience in organization and/or administration in the direction of some phase of the program involving children, adults, catechists.

• Able to confident utilize relevant technology e.g. computers, internet, social media, and website.

• Able to travel to between parishes, (Parish offices and school campuses that are located at both Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph.)

• Work hours require weekdays, evenings and weekends.
