Description:
Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Niles, Illinois seeks qualified candidates for the new position of Director of Life-Long Catechesis (DLLC). As a direct collaborator with the Pastor, this Director will be responsible for designing, developing, directing and evaluating comprehensive catechetical ministry for all parishioners. From sacramental formation to equipping disciples, the DLLC will be a central figure in transforming the parish culture to focus on evangelization and discipleship. One priority of the DLLC will be to move the parish away from a traditional religious education model to one that centers on raising up children as intentional disciples.
Requirements:
1. Be a practicing Catholic and intentional disciple of Jesus Christ, who is knowledgeable and faithful to Catholic doctrine and tradition, the documents of The Second Vatican Council, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, The National Directory for Catechesis, Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us, Renewing the Vision, and other relevant Church documents.
2.Ability to creatively vision and implement cultural transformation with the goal of raising up missionary disciples.
3. Be a core collaborator with the pastor, helping to set the vision and mission of Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church.
4. Possess strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
5. Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation, as well as attentiveness to details and accuracy.
6. Full compliance with Diocesan policies and Safe Environment requirements.
7. Commitment to personal spiritual growth and development, including but not limited to a yearly retreat and theological reading and education.
