Description:

Basic Functions: Work under immediate supervision of Pastor and Operations Director. Cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of the parish grounds. Making minor repairs to building and equipment as required. Duties and Responsibilities: -Performs maintenance service and small repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, plastering or electrical. -Knowledge of use and maintenance of power and hand equipment used on the job. -Buildings to maintain are church, rectory, school, gym and convent. -Perform general labor and tasks such as sweeping, trash removal, cleaning, wash walls, windows, doors, replenish toiletry supplies and set up for activities with strong attention to detail.(Primarily Convent) -Responsible for cleaning, painting, maintaining light fixtures, surfaces, rooms, hallways, restrooms, stairways, floors, etc. -Mops, strips, waxes floors, vacuums and shampoos carpeted areas using equipment such as vacuum, buffer and shampooer as needed.(Primarily Convent). -Must perform preventive inspections looking for potential problems and notify supervisor. Check all outside doors and lights to ensure working properly daily. -Install and remove air conditioning window units (if needed), replace furnace filters, vacuum heat vents out, replace batteries for smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, thermostats, and light bulbs as necessary. -Perform snow removal during the winter season, including salt if icy (during 7-11 a.m.) -Perform weeding, mulching, raking, branch and garbage pick up on parish grounds. -Handle all maintenance requests. -Ensure necessary inspections are completed in a timely manner i.e. boiler, fire extinguishers, etc. -May be given various other assignments and projects consistent with the responsibility level and general duties of the position.

Requirements:

Education: High School Graduate, GED or equivalent. Experience Required: 3 years of experience in maintenance or a related area. Skills Required: Procedures and safety measures of facilities, and grounds maintenance. Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, or electrical. Other Required: Valid Driver's license, push/pull 50lbs. Climb ladders and stairs as necessary. Able to work Monday-Friday 7-11 a.m.
