Description:

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Publicly support and promote the Business Manager initiatives and decisions regarding the mission and operation of the Parish. The Bookkeeper assists the Business Manager with the stewardship of the physical, financial, and personnel resources of the parish in accordance with Archdiocesan policies and best practices. The Bookkeeper is responsible for the daily financial bookkeeping functions of the church and school as well as assist the Business Manager in Human Resources Administration. Directly supports the ministries of the Church and School of St. Mary.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process and record Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable including Contribution Recording & Posting • Conduct and maintain all aspects of the Payroll Process • Assist with Human Resource Functions • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines • Spreadsheet and database capabilities • Adhere to Archdiocesan Internal Controls • Adhere to Archdiocesan Best Practices

Requirements:

JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• Basic knowledge of accounting practices, personnel procedures and policies, and federal, state and city laws.

• A commitment to good interpersonal relationships, teamwork and support of church ministries, and a pleasant personality.

• Must possess strong writing, organizational, time and work management skills.

• Must exhibit strong attention to detail and follow-through on assignments.

• Required to perform with a high level of conformity to confidentiality and sensitivity to private information

• Understand and support the mission of the parish and Archdiocese.

EXPERIENCE• QuickBooks: 5 years (Required) • Bookkeeping: 5 years (Required) • Microsoft Office & Excel: 5 years (Required) • Payroll Software: 3 years (Required) • Customer Resource Management Database Software: 1-3 years (Preferred) • Church or School Bookkeeping Experience: 1-3 years (Preferred)

EDUCATION • Bachelor's in Business or Related Field (Required)
